A Kushtia court on Monday granted bail to bus driver of 'Ganj-e-raj Paribahan' and its owner in a case over the death of a baby girl in a road accident in the district town on August 28.

Kushtia Senior Judicial Magistrate MM Morshed passed the order when their lawyers filed separate petitions for their bail before the court.

Earlier on Sunday, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested Joynal Abedin , the owner of 'Ganj-e-raj Paribahan' bus from his house in Faridpur district town. Later he was sent to jail.

Besides, driver Mahid Mia alias Khokon surrendered before the court on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, a ten-member probe body, formed by the government, visited the accident spot at Chourhash intersection in Kushita district town at noon.

The team also visited the parents of Akifa.

Akifa, a one-year-old daughter of Haruur Rashid, who sustained injuries after she fell from her mother Rina Akter's lap when a bus of 'Ganj-e-raj Paribahan' hit the mother in Kushtia district town on August 28, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on August 30.

Harunur Rashid, father of the deceased, filed the case against bus driver Khokon, its owner Joynul and supervisor Yunus with Kushita Model Police Station on the same day.

The video footage of the incident went viral on the social networking site Facebook, sparking an uproar among locals.
