NSU student killed in
road crash

A student of North South University was killed after being run over by a bus at Hatirzeel in the city yesterday night, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Fahim Rafi, 20, a second-year student of Economics department of the university and son of Moniruzzaman of South Bashabo in Sabujbagh. The accident took place when Fahim was getting down from a bus around 8 pm, witnesses said.

Locals took the victim to Khidma Hospital and informed his family members. Being informed, Fahim's father took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to injuries around 10 pm. The body was kept at the hospital morgue, said Sub-inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.

Earlier on Thursday police filed a charge sheet in a Dhaka court against six people for the death of two students in an accident at Kurmitola on July 29. The incident caused huge fuss calling for road safety in the country.
