5 Bangladeshis held in US for ‘illegal’ stay

US border patrol agents of the Laredo Sector have arrested five ‘illegal’ Bangladeshis from Laredo of Texas, says a report on the website of KGNS TV. According to the border patrol agency, agents discovered five individuals walking near the Rio Grande on September 4. When agents questioned them regarding their immigration status, it was revealed that they were all from Bangladesh. The individuals were processed accordingly, the report added. The report, however, did not mention the name of the arrestees. “The Laredo Sector Border Patrol continues to have the highest number of Bangladeshi apprehensions,” says the report. On May 31, Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents arrested nine illegal Bangladeshis after they illegally crossed the Rio Grande River in south Laredo. The Laredo Sector Border Patrol continues to have the highest apprehension of Bangladeshi Nationals compared to other Border Patrol Sectors, according to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).  Earlier on March 28 and March 29, Border Patrol agents arrested eight illegal Bangladesh after they crossed the Rio Grande River in south Laredo, Texas in the same manner. The KGNS report adds, “So far, the Laredo Sector has apprehended 609 Bangladeshi Nationals since the start of the fiscal year.”
