ICC curator briefs local curators

International Cricket Council (ICC) chief pitch consultant Andy Atkinson conducted a three-day training programme for local curators ended at the Media Block of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today.

World cricket apex body often hosts such type of training programme to its member countries across the world to teach the local curators about the new mechanism of the wickets and stadium how they will prepare wickets and maintain them for short and long-term basis in effective ways.

BCB chief curator Gamini de Silva coupled with newly-appointed curators Praveen Hinganikar and Sanjeev Agarwal and national manager of BCB grounds committee Abdul Baten, among others, were also present with a host of local curators.

Atkinson held such programme in the West Indies, Pakistan and India before coming here in Bangladesh for a three-day training programme arranged by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Grounds Committee.

“It’s a training course. It’s neither an instructional course nor a guideline from ICC,” said Andy Atkinson.
