Gang of 6 caught with 40,000
yaba tablets

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained six people who were caught in possession of 40,000 contraband yaba pills from inside a microbus in the capital’s Golapbag area on Saturday afternoon, reports UNB. The elite force also recovered uniforms of a fake security service company ‘ SISS’ , including caps, name badges and reflector belts in their possession.

Based on secret information, a team of RAB-10 challenged a microbus in the area at around 5:10 pm and recovered the yaba consignment upon searching the microbus, said ASP Jahid Hasan of RAB-10.

The elite force detained the six people from the microbus suspecting their involvement in yaba trade for several years, ASP Jahid said.

During preliminary interrogation, they reportedly revealed to RAB that they used to bring the drugs from Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar, before progressing on to the various districts of the country, including in their case Dinajpur, Gazipur and Dhaka.
