As soon as the song titled ‘O Mon Ramjaner Oi Rojar Sheshe Elo Khushir Eid’, a remarkable song of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, is heard on the radio or television at the end of the month-long fasting in Ramadan, it lets the Muslims in Bangladesh know the much-awaited day has finally come, tomorrow is Eid. In the course of time, the song has become the theme or the signature song of Eid-ul-Fitr in the country.

Over the last 10 years, Channel i has been telecasting the song with new music arrangement every year once the announcement of Eid is made. Till now, popular singers like Sabina Yasmin, Runa Laila, Ferdous Ara and SI Tutul, among others, have sung the song ‘O Mon Ramjaner Oi Rojar Sheshe’ in the new music arrangement.

This year, the new music arrangement of the song has been done by veteran singer and musician Ayub Bachchu. Eminent Rabindra Sangeet singers Tapan Mahmud, Sadi Mohammad, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Lily Islam, Fahim Hossain and a few other artistes from the younger generation have lent their vocals to the song for this Eid.

The recording of the song was completed in the studio of Channel I on June 11.

Ayub Bachchu said about doing the new music arrangement of the song, “The tune of Kazi Nazrul’s song is perpetual. The lyric and tune of the song provide us unique happiness once the Eid is announced. The song creates an amazing feeling in everyone’s mind.”

“I was told from Channel I several times to do the music arrangement for the song. Finally, I have done it. This is my good fortune that I got the opportunity to do the new music arrangement of this perpetual song. Besides, the singers who have lent their vocals to the song, they all are veteran Rabindra Sangeet artistes of the country. This is also a reason of feeling good. On the whole, I felt wonderful to be part of the song.”

Producer and director Ananya Roma informed that the song will be aired continuously on Channel i as soon as the announcement of Eid will be made.
