Woman labourers, maids demand fixed working hours

On the eve of the International Women Day several women organisations yesterday demand for fixed working hours for women day laborers and housemaids, reports UNB. They also demanded to ensure safety and security of woman workers in their workplaces. These demands were made at a rally jointly arranged by GarmentSramikOikya Forum and Biplobi Nari Forum marking the International Women Day 2018 in front of National Press Club here in the afternoon. Garment Sramik Oikya Forum President Mushrefa Mishu also demanded Tk 16,000 as the minimum wage of garment workers including the basic of at least Tk 10,000. She alleged that women are facing sexual harassment in their workplaces due to the patriarchal mindset of the society. Hundreds of activists and several leaders also addressed the rally.
