March to face heat wave, nor’westers

The western and north-western regions of the country might experience heat wave and Nor’westers during March, said Met office yesterday.

In the wake of a dry cold weather (February recording 70.7 percent less than normal rains and lowest minimum temperature of 8.7C), the country will have a bit hot weather this month.

The day temperature may have a rise by 1-2C than the average temperature of 34C-36C while a mild to moderate heat wave will blow later across the country’s north-western regions, said the long-range forecast from the Meteorological department.  Rains will be normal while there are possibilities of a couple of Nor’westers with hail storms in the north-west and central parts of the country as well, opined the Met office.     The forecast also depicted that February experienced a mild cold wave over Rangpur division in the first half of the month. The mercury dropped lowest to 8.7C on February 10 in Tetulia.
