Existing security arrangement to continue: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Javed Patwari yesterday said the security arrangement taken across the country centring the verdict against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case will continue as long as it is needed, reports UNB. He said this after visiting six policemen, who were injured during clashes with BNP supporters in the city before a court sentenced the BNP chief to 5 years in prison.  in the much-talked-about graft case, at Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital in the city in the evening. The special security measures were taken to protect people's lives and property apprehending probable untoward incidents centring the verdict. "We've arranged area-based security measures across the country," the IGP said.
