3 BCL men, 5 others expelled

The Chittagong University (CU) authorities yesterday expelled eight students, including three activists of  Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), for different terms for their Involvement in admission test fraud.

The decision was made at a meeting of Board of Residence Health and Disciplinary committee of the university, said Md Ali Asgor Chowdhury, proctor of CU. The students were Md Shahidullah Nisat, Raihanul Haque and Jurkar Nien, fourth year students of the Institute of Education and Research, Saddam Hossain of Arabic department, Istiak Ahmed Sourab of marketing department, Nazmul Kabir of English department, Shahidul and Shaidul Islam, both are students of economies department.

Among the expelled students Md Shahidullah, Raihanul Haque, Istiak Ahmed and Nazmul Kabir were expelled for one year. On the other hand, Jurkar Nien, Saddam Hossain, Shahidul and Shaidul Islam were expelled for two year.

On the other hand Md Shahidullah and Raihanul Haque were assistant secretary of CU unit BCL and Jurkar Nien was a member of the committee. They were known as follower of HM Fazly Rabby Sujan, former general secretary of the committee.
