Bangladesh reports first death
Bangladesh yesterday confirmed its first death from coronavirus as four fresh cases were reported, taking the total number of confirmed coronavirus patients in Bangladesh to 14. The first victim was identified as a 70-year-old man who got infected with the virus, officially known as COVID-19, and had multiple complications, said Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) while briefing media at her Mohakhali office in the capital. Meanwhile, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that Bangladesh will be put in lockdown if necessary to prevent the further spread of coronavirus in the country.
