Ruling Awami League candidates Atiqul Islam and Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh won the Dhaka north and south city corporation mayoral elections respectively beating their nearest rivals by big margins in yesterday’s elections, which were held by and large peacefully, and marked by a low turnout.
