BUET bans political activities
The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) yesterday banned political activities of all organisations on the campus. The declaration came on the fifth day of the agitation triggered by the brutal murder of BUET student, Abrar Fahad. However, the aggrieved BUET students vowed to continue agitation placing a five-point charter of demands afresh later at night. Calling for immediate implementation of the demands, they also warned that no admission test would be allowed until the five-point demands were met. The demands are: -- The accused in Abrar murder case have to be temporarily expelled immediately, and those named in the charge-sheet have to be served expulsion notice. -- The BUET authorities have to bear the entire costs…
