Another Juba League leader, Golam Kibria Shamim, was arrested from the capital yesterday with Tk 1.80 crore in cash, fixed deposit receipt (FDR) cheques worth Tk. 165 crore, eight firearms and a large cache of foreign liquors. During a drive at his office in the afternoon, GKB & Company Pvt Limited, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) also arrested seven of his bodyguards. In another raid at Kalabagan Krira Chakra later, RAB detained five persons including the club president, Shafiqul Alam. The four others – Hafizul Islam, Harun, Anwar and Lition Mia – are office staff, RAB-2 Commanding Officer Ashik Billah told the media.
