Ban on all 14 brands goes
The chamber judge of the Appellate Division yesterday cleared the way for 11 more companies to produce, distribute and sell pasteurised milk, an order with which all 14 companies earlier facing a High Court (HC) ban now go back to their business as usual. Chamber judge of the Appellate Division Justice Md Nuruzzaman also stayed for five weeks parts of the HC order that had imposed a ban on pasteurised milk of 14 licenced companies for five weeks over the presence of harmful antibiotics and lead in their products. Meanwhile, the scientists of Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council (BARC) didn’t find any harmful heavy metals, antibiotics and drugs in locally produced pasteurised milks.
