Promotion bonanza for bureaucrats before Eid
The government has started the process of promoting at least 500 bureaucrats of joint secretary and deputy secretary ranks to the posts of additional secretary and joint secretary as part of strengthening the activities of the civil administration, sources in the public administration ministry have said. For recommending promotions, members of the Superior Selection Board (SSB) held a meeting, with cabinet secretary in the chair, on Thursday. At the meeting, the SSB members discussed promoting at least 200 officials from among 17th and 18th batches of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) cadres to the post of joint secretary, the sources added.
