Nine killed as Fani crosses Bangladesh
At least nine people were killed across the country after a weakened Cyclone Fani, one of the biggest storms to hit the Indian subcontinent in decades, barreled into Bangladesh yesterday, after leaving a trail of destruction across the eastern coast of India. The deaths occurred in seven districts of Bhola, Bagerhat, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Barguna, Netrokona, and Laxmipur on Friday and yesterday, The Independent confirmed through its correspondents and from agency reports.
