Dhaka urges Beijing 
to fund 8 projects
The Economic Relations Division (ERD) of the finance ministry has urged the Chinese authorities to provide funds as soon as possible to implement at least eight priority projects under a government-to-government (G2G) deal signed in 2016, according to sources in the ERD. The projects involving $5.245 billion, which will be financed solely by China, has already been approved by the Executive Committee for the National Economic Council (ECNEC), the sources added. The project work will start as soon the funds become available from China, a high official at the ERD told The Independent yesterday. He said the ERD wrote to the Chinese authorities earlier this year and China responded to the letter on March 4 clarifying their project-wise opinions.…
