Dhaka bldg owners skip occupancy certificate
Most buildings in Dhaka are occupied by owners without any occupancy certificate, which is supposed to be issued upon the completion of a building by certain authorities. According to experts, this oversight can turn into a costly mistake, jeopardszing the legal status of the building. Moreover, the lack of such certificates actually turns these buildings into seemingly “unsafe concrete boxes” rather than true habitable structures, they added.
