In a historic event, 102 yaba dealers surrendered to police yesterday in the presence of home minister Asaduzzaman Khan at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazaar. After the surrender, all the drug dealers were sent to jail following the filing of two cases under the arams and drugs acts. The one-of-a-kind event, titled ‘Surrender programme of drug traders for returning to normal life’, was arranged by the government to give the drug dealers a chance to return to the mainstream.
