AL working on to tame rebels
High-ups in the Awami League (AL) have been trying hard to tame those party leaders who have filed nomination papers against party-nominated candidates for the next polls, scheduled to be held on December 30. The AL president Sheikh Hasina has already formed a election monitoring cell with central leaders, who are relentlessly working to minimise the gap between the party-nominated candidates and other AL aspirants. If the AL fails to ensure a single candidate for each constituency, it will take organisational action against the rebel candidates. The AL high-ups may permanently remove the rebel candidates from the party, insiders said. There are still four to five aspirant candidates from the AL in over 70 constituencies. They are preparing…
