The chief election commissioner (CEC), KM Nurul Huda, yesterday announced December 30 as the new election date after considering appeals made by political parties for rescheduling of the general election. On October 8, the CEC had set December 23 as the 11th parliamentary election date. The CEC said the last date for submission of nomination papers is November 28. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on December 2 and withdrawal of candidacy has been set for December 9.
