The Editors’ Council (Sampadak Parishad) yesterday demanded that some sections of the newly enacted ‘Digital Security Act’ be amended to ensure freedom of mass media and independent journalism. The body of newspaper editors called upon the government to amend Sections 8, 21, 25, 28, 29, 31, 32, 43 and 53 of the Act in the upcoming parliamentary session.
