Students come under attack in Jigatala, Mirpur
At least 40 people were injured when protesting students were attacked by a group of youths in the capital, escalating the simmering tension of the students’ movement demanding safe roads that has been going on continuously for seven days. The students claimed they were attacked by workers and activists of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and the Juba League around 1pm while they were holding their peaceful movement at the city’s Jigatala area, next to the headquarters of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
