Private hospitals in Chattogram went on an indefinite strike yesterday protesting at a mobile court drive in Max Hospital blamed for massive irregularities that recently caused the death of a minor girl. The wildcat strike drew widespread criticism from different quarters as it forced many critical patients to go untreated in the second largest city of the country. The mobile court of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted the nearly four-hour drive at Max Hospital from 11:30am and fined it Tk 10 lakh for massive irregularities.
