The government will regularise the illegal use of gas by different industries to streamline the sector once the costly LNG (liquefied natural gas) is injected into the national grid. It will also consider 1,760 more new industrial connections subject to verification by Petrobangla. However, the much-talked-about issue of household gas connections was not discussed at a high-level meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday. The meeting was presided over by the Prime Minister's energy adviser, Tawfiq-E-Elahi Chowdhury, in the presence of senior officials of the Energy Division and the managing director of Titas Gas Limited.
