Nat’l polls schedule in October: EC
Election Commissioner Rafiqul Islam yesterday said the schedule for the next parliamentary polls will be announced in October this year. “The schedule for the 11th general election will be announced in October. But nothing can be said right now about the exact date. The commission will decide on that matter,” he told journalists at a press conference on finalisation of the delimitation of 300 constituencies. This is the first time an election commissioner said something concrete about the schedule for the next polls. Meanwhile, the EC also published its final list of delimitation of 300 parliamentary seats bringing changes to 25 constituencies in 12 districts.
