The government is going to prepare the “National Defence Policy 2018” with the provision for integrating the masses in defence of the country during war, if needed, as it did during the country’s War of Liberation in 1971. The draft, prepared by the Armed Forces Division (AFD) keeping in mind national interests and the commitment to global peace and stability, is likely to be placed before the Cabinet meeting today, according to government sources.
