Impartial govt must for next polls: Khaleda
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday said that the next general elections must be held under an ‘impartial poll-time government’. Renewing her party's demand for a non-party government, she also called for a congenial atmosphere so that voters can go to polling stations without any fear. Addressing the inaugural session of the party's national executive committee meeting at Hotel Le Meridian in the capital, Khaleda asserted that the next election ‘will have to be held dissolving parliament and discarding the plan for using the EVMs’. Saying that the Election Commission must work neutrality for holding fair and inclusive polls, the BNP chief also demanded the deployment of army as a mobile force during the election.…
