Curbs on new filling station soon
The government is going to impose restrictions on the process of setting up filling stations in the country as political pressure is mounting, with licences in the lucrative petroleum products business being sought by all and sundry. Sources said any applicant for filling stations would have to be a regular taxpayer, one who pays a minimum of Tk 1 lakh annually. Such applicants would also have to meet some other stringent conditions before they can become owners of petrol stations.
