Lawmakers yesterday expressed their dissatisfaction over the recent Supreme Court's verdict scrapping the 16th constitutional amendment that restored the parliament's authority to remove Supreme Court judges on grounds of incapacity or misconduct, reports BSS. Taking part in an unscheduled debate in the House, they strongly criticized appellate division and its pronouncement that the Jatiya Sangsad has no power to remove Supreme Court judges. JSD lawmaker Moinuddin Khan Badal, who initiated the debate on a point of order, asked the SC to review its decision.
