5 years on, tribunal yet to be formed
Despite the lapse of more than five years since the issuance of a gazette notification by the government relating to the formation of an appeal tribunal to dispose of appeals filed against the Land Survey Tribunals’ (LSTs) decisions, litigants are still waiting to get justice. According to sources, at least 2.6 lakh cases are pending before land survey tribunals (LSTs) across the country. This is causing immense suffering for litigants as they are not getting justice despite the lapse of many years after filing of cases. There were less than 2 lakh cases before the LSTs in 2015.
