280 institutions find no takers
At least 280 educational institutions under different education boards have not got any student after the first merit list of college admission was published on Monday. On the other hand, 882 educational institutions got less than 10 students and 1,758 institutions below 20 to run colleges and madrasas, sources in the Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee said. Under the Technical Education Board, 154 colleges did not get any student. The number of such colleges under the Madrasa Board is 71. It is 26 under the Rajshahi Board, 16 in Dhaka, seven in Jessore, three in Barisal, two in Comilla and one in Dinajpur.
