Gazipur girl dies falling into manhole

GAZIPUR: An unidentified teenage girl died falling into a manhole at bypass intersection in Gazipur city yesterday morning, reports UNB.
Md Jakir Hossain, sub-inspector of Joydebpur Police Station, said the girl was waiting for a bus standing on the slab of the manhole around 9:15 am yesterday. At one stage, she slipped into the manhole as the slab was removed being hit by a Dhaka-bound 'Balaka Service Paribahan' bus. Later, with the help of locals police recovered the body.
The accident occurred four days after Shanu Miah, a middle-aged man, fell to death in an open box culvert at Paltan of Dhaka on the night of March 6, 2017.
