‘Stern action to be taken against mischief makers’

GAIBANDHA: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said here yesterday stern action would be taken against the persons who would make mischief against the government and the party, reports BSS.Quader made the comment while addressing a warm clothes distribution programme at Chowrasta of Palashbari upazila town in the district as the chief guest.
The minister criticised the leaders who were taking "bad men" in the party.
The existing two-lane highway from Elenga of Tangali to Rangpur would be turned into four-lane one very shortly, he said.
Terming the yaba as a killer of the young generation, Quader urged all to get united and build up rigorous movement in the society through active participation of all to make a drug free society.
Later, the minister formally inaugurated the blankets distribution programme to the distressed of the upazila on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the chief guest.
State minister for textiles and jute Mirza Azam, Awami League joint secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, organising secretary BM Mojammel Haque, relief and social welfare affairs secretary Sujit Roy Nandi and president of Bangladesh Chhatra League Saifur Rahman Sohag accompanied the minister during the period.
