I never do anything special on birthday: Andrew Kishore

Today is the birthday of eight-time National Film Award winning playback singer Andrew Kishore. However, despite being this his special day, the talented singer usually does not make any grand plans on his birthday. However, last night, at the initiative of his family, he did the usual cake-cutting after midnight with his wife Lipika Andrew Eti, his daughter Minim Andrew Songa and son Jay Andrew Saptok. Today, even though the singer usually does not celebrate, his daughter Sanga will treat the family to dinner as she has entered the professional life as well.
An excited Andrew Kishore expressed, “I never do anything special on my birthday. I can recall some memories of my childhood. Both my parents worked at Rajshahi hospital. Their income was very limited and with that limited income, on my birthday they used to gift me with new clothes. That used to bring me so much joy. I would like to ask everyone for their well wishes and prayers that I stay happy and healthy.”
As far as any new projects are concerned, Andrew Kishore said, “Now, whatever I work on, I am very selective and try to do the work in the most efficient manner. At the moment I am working on some mixed album and also working on some film songs. However, the major work which I am eagerly anticipating for are four songs left behind by Syed Shamsul Haq. The songs will be tuned and arranged by Alam Khan. If I am able to do these songs, I would consider it a major landmark in my career.”
For his song ‘Haire Manush Rongin Phanus Dom Phuraile Thush’, written by Syed Shamsul Huq, Andrew Kishore was bestowed with the National Film Award for the first time. The song was from the film ‘Boro Bhalo Lok Chilo’, directed by Mohiuddin. The song ‘Chader Shathe Ami Debona Tomar Tulona’ was the last film song written by Syed Shamsul Huq and Andrew Kishore lent his vocal to it.  l
