Sports Reporter

Four more male and even number of female fast bowlers were selected for the final phase  as Robi Fast Bowler Hunt campaign trial run was held at Mymensingh yesterday.

Just like Chittagong, Sylhet, Comilla and Cox’s Bazar, the young fast bowlers turned up in great numbers at Mymensingh Circuit House ground. Leading mobile phone operator Robi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is jointly organising this exciting campaign powered by Robi’s Super Fast Internet, according to a press release.
The Additional SP and vice president of Mymensingh Cricket Parishad DSB Nur Alam, general secretary of Mymensingh District Sports Association Sazzad Jahan Chowdhury Shaheen and cricket secretary Mymensingh Cricket Porishad Rezaul Hoque Bahadur were present at the inauguration ceremony.
A total of 882 fast bowlers registered to take part in the contest at Mymensingh. Following the screening process 526 fast bowlers were eligible to take part in the hunt. In total 4 male and 4 female fast bowlers were selected from Mymensingh.
One particular fast bowler caught the attention of the selectors. He was at ease with bowling in-swing and out-swing deliveries. He bowled at 130 kmph (fastest of the day). His dazzling performance prompted a prominent cricket team to offer him a place in their team on the spot.
Earlier, the preliminary selections were held in Sylhet, Chittagong, Comilla and Cox’s Bazar.  The fast bowler hunt sessions will take place in 16 different locations of the country. All the selected participants from across the country will be going to Dhaka for High Performance Camp.
