Al-Amin treble helps Barisal post 2nd win

Sports Reporter
Al-Amin treble helps
Barisal post 2nd win

Fast bowler Al-Amin Hossain’s five-wicket burst including a brilliant hattrick gave Barisal Bulls second consecutive victory as they defended just 108 runs successfully to hand Sylhet Superstars a second consecutive one-run defeat yesterday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Al-Amin’s hattrick came in the fourth over of the innings as he dismissed Ravi Bopara,  Nurul Hasan Sohan and captain Mushfiqur Rahim, with his stock delivery—that nipped back in sharply from outside off. That jolted the Super Stars innings but they huffed and puffed on their way to take the game to the last over before being restricted to 107 for nine.
With limited total on the board, Al-Amin (five for 36) gave the side a breakthrough in the second and his first over when he got rid of Superstar opener Mominul Haque. His altercation with opponent’s pacer Mohammad Shahid after his dismissal as last batsman of Barisal’s innings was believed to enthuse him in delivering such an amazing spell.  It however could lead his punishment as TV replay showed he initiated exchanging heated words and tried to shove Shahid with bat.
Shahid only could retaliate in batting when eight runs were needed in the last over. He was in strike but only could hole out in the first ball of the last over off Taijul Islam. Al-Amin’s second T20 five-for was complemented by left arm spinner Tajiul’s three for 23. Taijul only gave away six runs in the high-pressurized final over.
Dilshan Munaweera was the highest scorer for Superstars with 36 off 31 in which he struck six boundaries.
Barisal who defended 155 against Rangpur Riders to secure a 13-run victory, yet again showed a disciplined bowling performance
despite their batters fared badly for the consecutive second games.
Nadif Chowdhury was their highest scorer with 24 while Rony Talukdar made 20.
