‘Drug trader’ killed in ‘gunfight’

UNB, Dhaka

A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in city’s Hazaribagh area early yesterday. The deceased was identified as Nadim, 38. Tipped-off, a team of Rab-2 conducted a drive in the area to recover drugs around 4am, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost. Criminals opened fire as soon as the elite force reached the area, triggering a skirmish.
