Department of Environment (DoE), Chattogram fined Taka 3.5 lakh to Saleh Steel Industries Limited in city’s Bayezid area for polluting environment by releasing excessive unrefined smoke in the air. Director of DoE, Azadur Rahman Mallik pronounced the penalty after a hearing at DoE office on Tuesday.
