Two held with 10 gold bars in Benapole

OUR CORRESPONDENT, Jashore

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two people with 10 gold bars weighing about 2.783 kg from Amrakhali check post in Benapole yesterday morning.

The arrestees were identified as Sree Dilip Biswas, 35, son of Sree Noren Biswas of Ghiba village and Md Rabiul Islam, 27, son of Md Monir Uddin of Loan Office Para in Jashore town.

Acting commanding officer of 49 BGB Battalion in Jashore Major Md Nazrul Islam said BGB members arrested the gold smugglers in several drives. BGB handed over the gold bars to Benapole port police station, he added.

A case was filed in this connection.
