Nazmul may meet Sourav to discuss Test series issues

BCB chief flies to Nagpur to watch 3rd T20I tomorrow
SPORTS REPORTER, Dhaka
Nazmul may meet Sourav to discuss Test series issues

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan Papon is likely to fly for Nagpur to watch the third and last Twenty20 International of the three-match T20 series between Bangladesh and hosts India today.

The BCB president will make a courtesy meeting with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) counterparts Sourav Ganguly today (Saturday), a day before this last T20 match.

It’s learnt from the confidential BCB sources that the courtesy meet between Papon and Sourav will be held as a part of their informal meeting. But what will be the agenda of discussion in their meeting did not possible to know.

But it is being predicted that both the presidents will discuss about the second Test of the two-Test series which will be held in the aftermath of the T20I series. The second Test will be a day-night affair to be held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, home ground of the BCCI president.

Sourav meanwhile informed media what he plans to do to keep the Test memorable because the idea of the pink-ball Test between Bangladesh and India has been emerged from his brain.

Ganguly himself proposed to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after discussing with regular captain Virat Kohli to make the second Test a pink-ball Test. India earlier received proposal from Australia, England and New Zealand to play day-night Test but they didn’t agree to play because they are yet to be ready for it.

Maybe the duo will meet in an informal meeting to discuss the matter of that Test along with other undisclosed matters. In their meeting, a discussion might be held on the new concept of Ganguly-Durjoy Trophy, which was come for the first time to the international media through Ganguly led Z-Bangla popular programme ‘Dada Giri’.

However, the BCB president was present in the field during the tour-opening match in Delhi, where Bangladesh triumphed the match by seven wickets in the smog-soaked Delhi tarmac.

By then, Nazmul Hassan had to return home from Delhi not to see the second match of the T20 series at Rajkot, whereby the home side levelled the series 1-1 with comprehensive eight-wicket win.

Aiming to win the series, both Bangladesh and India will get down in the field at Nagpur on Sunday. The BCB boss, an avid fan of cricket, will enjoy the match sitting in the stadium.
