Bijori-starrer ‘Apa’ to be aired tonight

Actress plays titular role
DL REPORTER, Dhaka
Bijori-starrer ‘Apa’
to be aired tonight

Seasoned actress Bijori Barkatullah, a much popular face on the small screen, will be seen playing the titular role in a tele-drama titled ‘Apa’ tonight at 10pm on Ekushey TV.

Written by Kazi Riton and directed by Shakal Ahmed, the tele-drama is produced by Black and White.

Shakal Ahmed said about the drama, “‘Apa’ revolves around the hardship of a lower-middle-class family without a father. Sacrificing her own happiness, Apa (the central character) tries to run the family. When she starts to live with her mother, brother and sister happily, sadness seeps into her life once again. Her love interest Dinar neglects her and Apa becomes helpless all over again in her life.”

Regarding her role, Bijori said, “The story of ‘Apa’ is a very common story trending in our society. While working in the drama based on the story connected to real life, I became very emotional. I believe many audiences would find similarities with their life in the drama. For my long-term collaboration with director Shakal Ahmed, I can now understand how he wants me to perform in any role. I am optimistic about the drama.”

Alongside Bijori, the tele-drama also includes veteran actress Sujata, Intekhab Dinar, Nazira Mou and Irfan Sazzad, among others, in different roles.
