Terengganu FC of Malaysia lifted the trophy of the third edition of the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup football tournament outshining the hosts Chittagong Abahani Limited with a 2-1 victory. Held at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram, in the closely contested match Terengguna FC led the first half by 2-0, which was enough to win the title when Chittagong Abahani could reduce only one goal.     

The hosts made a lively start with tremendous paces and also broke down both left and right side to make early threats and also went very closer to have early breakthrough. But the first three strong moves went in vain when Luka disappointed twice and effort of captain Jamal Bhuiyan went straight to goalkeeper.

Terengganu, who not looked at their excellence, as were struggling to deal with the high pressure from the other end but the tactically sound, the Malaysian side took the lead from the first move on 15th minute. The only unbeaten team Terengganu earned a corner from a counter attack with the left wing and it was Lee Andrew Tuck, who located his pinpointed flank kick just on top of the six yards box that found Hairiey Hakam to nod the ball into top corner of the net near post (1-0).

Inspired by taking the lead Terengganu looked discover themselves and doubled the advantage just five minute later.   Conceding a goal against the flow of the game Chittagong Abahani looked bewildered and taking the advantage Terengganu doubled the lead on 15th minute, which was ultimately the match decider. This time from a sharp counter attack onrushing Zuasyraf controlled well a long pass from the left wing and beat Ctg Abahani defender Iqbol Jon with inside-outside dodge and finally pushed the ball coolly through the legs of goalkeeper Nehal to stop the screaming of 35000 local crowds (2-0).

The hosts looked bounce back right after the break and tipped off to repeat the picture of their semifinal match when they drew the match coming from behind with scoring a goal in the very second minute after the kick off. The Sky-Blue of the Port City again raised the hope of the fans when a Luka tapped a Chenedu cut back and the ball dropped inside the line after hitting the cross bar (1-2). Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal distributed prizes as chief guest. The champions received $50,000 as prize money and runners-up got $25,000.
