Expansion of ICT-based services

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RELEVANT AUTHORITIES TO MAKE ARRANGEMENT FOR IMPARTING ADEQUATE TRAINING TO THE PEOPLE CONNECTED WITH ICT-BASED ACTIVITIES

It is encouraging to note that use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been expanded significantly in all spheres of life in Rajshahi division. People are getting e-services related to various emergency issues including national identity card, land documents, training, education and health. As stated in the report, a total of 563 Union Digital Centres, 61 Pourasava Digital Centres and 30 city digital centres are functioning in eight districts under the division in order to reach the public services to the doorsteps of grassroots people. Besides, more than 5,828 multimedia classrooms were installed in educational institutions in the division opening up a new door of expediting the process of modernisation in the education system.

 The way IT sector is developing in the country, time is not far away that a significant number of youth in the country will get the job opportunity. It is the IT sector that has emerged as a boon for the vast community of youth in the country. What is needed is exploration of the sector fully and effectively. Online outsourcing can contribute to reduction of unemployment problem in the country significantly.  

There are immense possibilities for the youths of the country to become self-reliant by engaging themselves in various income-generating activities.  Since ICT sector is knowledge-based, educated youths can utilize their skills and can be self-reliant through online outsourcing. It can be an excellent opportunity for the young people to get rid of the scourge of unemployment. They can also create employment opportunities for other unemployed youths.

It is important to enhance skill on ICT to become good freelancers for earning foreign currency.  The youths can come forward with their education, particularly good command on English language, to expand the horizon of employment opportunities to live a life with dignity. There is no age bar for online outsourcing. People from 17 years to 70 years, including housewives and girls, can be engaged in this job. It is imperative to make  arrangement to impart training to the people connected with ICT-based activities.
