Apu in titular role of ‘Amma’

DL REPORTER, Dhaka
Apu in titular role of ‘Amma’

After a long hiatus, veteran actress Shilpi Sarkar Apu will be seen playing the titular role in a drama serial once again. Under the direction of Abu Hayat Mahmud, the actress will appear in new drama serial ‘Amma’.

Written by Masum Shahriar, Apu will play the role of Amma (mother), who, after her husband’s death, goes through the hard toil of life and raises her children in a complicated situation.

DhakaLive has news that shooting of the first phase of Amma has been already completed.

Regarding the drama, Apu was found to be very enthusiastic.

“ I am optimistic that Amma will become one of the admired drama serials, among viewers,” she said.

“In order to deliver lines with tears in eyes, artistes are required to use glycerine. However, as dialogues of the drama serial was so well crafted and full of emotions, I did not have to use the glycerine for emotional scenes,” she added.

She also thanked Abu Hayat Mahmud to let her play the role of Amma in the serial.

I would also like to express my gratitude to dramatist Masum Shahriar and others related to the project, she added.

Apart from Shilpi Sarkar Apu, the drama serial casts Anisur Rahman Milon, Mishu Sabbir, Tania Ahmed and Airn Afroz as Apu’s children while Faruque Ahmed and Nazia Haque Orsha, among others, will be seen in other roles as well.

The drama serial will be telecast on a satellite TV channel soon.
