Arranged with the aim of promoting and expanding the theatrical productions worldwide, the weeklong theatre festival ‘Bangladesh International Theatre Festival’ will end today at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital.

Ministry of Cultural Affairs, in association with BSA and International Theatre Unit, has organised the festival. Supported by Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation, six troupes from Russia, China, France, India, Vietnam and Nepal and two Bangladeshi troupes have brought their plays on stage during the weeklong festival.

Today, on the concluding day of the festival, Nikolai Zykov Theatre from Russia will stage light puppet show at the National Theatre Hall of BSA followed by the closing ceremony in the evening.

Earlier on June 20, the weeklong festival was inaugurated at the National Theatre Hall of BSA.

Alongside staging theatre productions, the festival also featured a seminar on the third day of the weeklong event.

Yesterday, Le Ngoc Theatre from Vietnam staged its play ‘Kim Tu’ at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The mass audiences can enjoy the festival through an online registration, which is free of cost. For registration, the audience have to visit www.internationaltheatrefestbd.com.
