Students of East Tiakhali Government Primary School in Kalapara upazila attend classes in their tin-shed building. The classroom becomes flooded in case of even a light drizzle as the tin roof cannot keep the water out.

The school was established in 1991. It was declared to be a C-catgory educational institution in 2014. Currently, the school has 125 students. Parents of the students are apprehensive about the state of the tin-shed school building. Last month, Emon, a student of Claass V, broke his left hand after losing his foothold on the broken floor.
