MoU signed to promote oceanography research

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Dhaka (DU) and Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMRAD) was signed yesterday to promote education, research and training on oceanography as well as protect environment and marine resources in the country. Treasurer of DU Prof Md Kamal Uddin and Director General of BIMRAD Commodore Kazi Emdadul Haq BN (retd) singed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions at the Vice-Chancellor’s office on the campus. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Social Science Prof Sadeka Halim, Dean of the Faculty of Earth & Environmental Sciences Prof ASM Maksud Kamal, Chairman of the Department of Oceanography Md Jobaer Alam, Prof Imtiaz Ahmed of the Department of International Relations, Acting Registrar Md Enamuzzaman and some other higher officials from BIMRAD were present on this occasion. According to the MoU, DU and BIMRAD will exchange information and materials to strengthen maritime research in the country. They will also conduct joint research programmes and jointly organise seminar, symposium, conference, workshop and training programmes onoceanography. Besides, they will work together to promote maritime sector in Bangladesh and formulate strategy in this regard.

RU AIS dept offers EMBA programme

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) of Rajshahi University (RU) is offering one-year and two-year Evening MBA (EMBA) Programme (July-December 2019). Convener of EMBA programme committee Prof Md Sayaduzzaman disclosed the matter yesterday. The admission form distribution was started on April 25 that will continue till June 27 next. The written admission test will be held at 10am on June 28 at Rabindra Arts Building while the oral test will also be held on that day. The candidates must have a bachelors degree from any discipline from any university.  It is noted one-year programme is divided into two semesters and two-year programme is divided into four semesters.
