Two first half goals steered Mongolia to kick off their campaign in the Bangamata Under-19 Women’s International Gold Cup football tournament defeating favourites Tajikistan by 3-0 yesterday.

Held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, the Mongolian despite began the tournament under the shadow of pre-match favourites Tajikistan but overshadowed the higher ranking central Asian Tajik with a comfortable 3-0 win.

Mongolia after winning the match brightened their chance to move into the semifinal as they need simply a draw in the next match.

After conceding the defeat it becomes something tough for Tajikistan women to cross the group league stage, as they are in must win position in their next match against Laos and certainly will have to win the match with bigger margin.

However, Tajikistan it all started pretty positively for Tajikistan when right after the first whistle they had five players in attack and could have taken the lead on 12th minute but a good attempt of Rajabova Sayohat was superbly saved by Mongolian keeper.

Mongolia getting rid of the scare took the lead two minutes later with Undrai slammed home her close range header of a Lora Tom corner on 14th (1-0).

Enkhmargad doubled the advantage on 28th minute when she beat Tajikistan goalkeeper with a placing shot.

Delgerzaya made the tally 3-0 to bring the match beyond Tajikistan reach when the defender converted a penalty on 69th minute.
